I've just spoke to my Sister in Buxton, they have over a foot of snow. She works at The Whitehall Outward Bound Centre up Long Hill, she'll have fun in the morning!

done much riding round wildboarclough/macc forest/'charity lane'?
mudded up at all?

I didn't go out in the end. I have done loads of mtb'ing up there though - it's on my doorstep so it's the area I go offroad the most. Cumberland Brook, Charity Lane, Macclesfield Forest, Kerridge Hill, over the moors from the Cat & Fiddle - all awesome.:wahhey:

She got in OK but another 6 inches forecast for tonight

1st Turbo session complete of the year (not used it for about 2 years..;))- 13 miles total....10 x 1 min intervals...tedious, but hard work.....

Riding in shorts and t-shirt, in sub zero temps in the garage with the fan on me to keep cool - mad....;) I've never used the Turbo in the house, even with a fan as I start melting..... The wife won't go on the exercise bike in the garage unless a fan heater has been on for half an hour.........

FAN ON - sure you got that right :?:

I am now sick and tired of the bl**dy stuff... every time I clear the drive I look outside and more has fallen. My street has 4ft high piles of snow on gardens and corners of drives etc which is going to take weeks to melt if the long range predictions is right.

Can not drive into work tomorrow as the office carpark was a nightmare last week when there was only about 20% of people in so it is going to be carnage tomorrow as most of it is covered by about a foot of snow and the building owners can not get anyone to clear it for them. Bike is not an option so I have to rely on the bus.

Diet starts tomorrow and I was looking forward to getting it off to a flying start with a good week of exercise on the bike but that is not going to happen now.

Do you have to walk much if you catch the bus? In a day of using the bus instead of biking (I found out yesterday) I get an hour's walking all told to and from the bus stops. So, though it's not very aerobic, it's still exercise. My legs certainly ached in different places today compared to when I've biked it.

Look what my Nephew and his cronies have done up in Buxton!

It will take some time to droop:blush:

Not as much as I would like walking wise, about 10 mins up the hill to the bus stop (but I did go the long route) and then about 15 mins after work down to OH work to get a lift home with him. Did go for a walk at lunchtime as well but I do that most days anyhow.

When will this cold snap end? Medium range forecasts are predicting that this current cold snap will be coming to an end by the middle of next week with some milder Atlantic air making its way in, quite possibly bringing with it some Atlantic ocean to dump upon us.

Long range, according to a rather dodgy long range forecast model (Long range forecasting is always dodgy) this won't be it for cold snaps and snow this year. Quite possibly by the middle of February we might get to see some more of the white stuff.
