Going up of course, surely it can't be much worse than Cudham Hill or Cudham Test Hill?

p.s. I now have a 26t granny ring, so can go up the slightest of hills exceedingly slowly, more slowly than before.

I don't know Cudham so can't comment. But the main reason Succombs hill is bad is because just as it gets steep you have a left hand bend. In a car you have to drop it down to first to get up it.

Not that big but a nice incline to get stuck into when you've got about 1 mile of flat road into your ride

this used to be on my commute, no idea how steep it is (any guesses?). It looks more impressive in the side-on-view
Funny how a lot of these steep hills look quite flat if you don't know the place ... until you spot something that's definitely vertical, to give you the perspective :becool:.

If the road I think it is (past Napier, Craighouse) I think its around 14.5%. I cycled it a couple of months back once was enough :becool:

I live fairly high so most routes start downhill. This is the best run down, but what goes down must go up. The up isn't as steep as the down, but I had to do that in reverse with only a mile to go. Fortunately the cycle route turns off half way up.

Hell of the allotments -Tynan .

I don't believe this .I may have been in that area .

Every two years we go to Ashburnham Place near Battle .A Christian Conference Centre ,for a weeks holiday .Two years ago i took my bike ,i wanted to lay a really bad memory .
So i have just been upstairs and got the postcard i bought in Hastings .With the details on .

Tuesday 7th August,Ashburnham Place -Battle -St Leonards on Sea-Hastings and then same route back after tiffin on the little pier at the amusement arcade .

Distance 24.57 miles in 1hr 56min .On a really hot day .
And i laid to rest a bad memory .

My warm up climb two miles into my commute.

Another energy sapper.

Some nice scenic bits though.

The final climb.
