Am I Alone in Thinking........

I was astonished at the accuracy of this. Highly paid weathermen beware. I wonder what the investment is to produce this extremely helpful weather forecast .

Seriously though, am I alone in thinking how much bang do we get for our buck when it comes to the Meteorological Office. I was getting ready to set off on my commute to central London the other day and the forecaster on News 24 (attractive Scottish woman with blonde hair and a nice smile) was telling me it was dry and I could see it was pouring. If they can't it get right by simply looking out of the window what hope for a 24 hour or 5 day prediction.

What is the budget from the tax-payer for this service and would we be better served by the sort of site that totallyfixed has posted for us?

I think we should be told!!

Like it..doesn't know the Weather in Manchester

Manchester is easy, the answer is always 'yes'.

(Which is one reason why it's such a big city today. The cotton industry works best in a damp climate.)

I expected to wake up today to dreadful weather, but it was just cloudy. So I went and fettled the trike a bit, in my civvies, and almost took it for a ride when the sun tried to come out. But I didn't have the right shoes on, and I wimped out, and riding back from the lockup found that the wind was bitter cold (and in my face). So they were half right.

I heard once that if you simply predict that the weather will be 'the same as yesterday', you'll tend to be right way more than half the time.
