I have not found a negative review about the Planet X bike yet and you cannot fault the components. I am just a weekend bimbler and am sure it would do the job I want.

Its interesting to learn about different bike company's ideas with working with carbon and the differences between open mold and closed molding....

Indeed. I suppose the bigger brands have more scope to invest in the design of their frames. There was a good article in a recent C+ about Cannondale. Where would one fins this information about other brands?

I started by emailing them and asking for the information, most were really helpful.
Interviews with Bob Parlee of Parlee Cycles are also enlightening.

Specialized have a micro site on their fact carbon process which is interesting.

I have a choice of the Planet X or a Specialized C12 Carbon.

The Planet X if Ultegra throughout and the C12 is a mix of Ultegra and 105. The C12 is from my LBS and the planet X is from online.

I am not a racer and it would be for fitness and crédit card touring.

Which would you choose?
