Looking for a new helmet as my one isnt well ventilated at all.

Im looking for a helmet that is really compact, almost as if it sits on top of your head, but doesnt sit over the front/back/sides of your head.

Watching the tour and various other races this year (on t.v) has made me search and search online for one, and im almost certain ive found the 4 best for the money and good reviews.

Hopefully someone on here understands what im after when i say i want "compact", and can help? Cause i really dont want to be wasting my money.

1st is, Bell Sweep R 2008 (to be honest i really like the look of this one, and seems a good price) - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=15159

2nd is, Briko Arrow - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Triathlon/10/Briko_Arrow_Helmet/5360035053/

3rd is, Specialized S Works 2D (not the nicest looking, in my opinion) - http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=11568

4th is, Giro Atmos - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=30434

Any help would be great, as i said above my main priority is how compact the helmet is.

Thanks in advance

I understand what you mean about compact however I would have thought to a degree how any helmet sits on your head depends on your head shape etc. So you are rpobably best trying models on.

Many of the well ventilated ones have pretty deep supporting ribs for the large gaps, so perhaps are actually less 'compact' than cheaper models?

FWIW I have Giro Atmos and other than the price I am very pleased with it. It is ventilated enough that I can actually bear to wear it for a start, which is more than I can say for most other helmets I have tried over the years.

I have the Bell Sweep. Good helmet but it is not by any means compact. It covers my head to a far greater extent than any helmet I have had and I'm sure it would be effective (as they can be) if I came off. However as compact goes, wish I had paid an extra £30 for the Specialized.

I have to say I don't consider Spesh helmets compact (although I didn't make much comparison when buying mine), but Jesus H are they well ventilated - only really notice it in the height of summer.
