Pushing... yes pushing my Brompton...
I was pushing it along a tube platform with the intention of folding it once I'd found a space. The platform narrowed, both with a wall and with a fellow passenger standing a little back from the yellow line. So as I got closer to the bike, the wheels of the bike sort of became really close to me and when I put my right foot down there was no ground there, and the whole thing gave way underneath me. The bike went down and I landed it on top of it.

Nobody laughed, although once settled on a tube and I had relaxed from the shock I had a chuckle. At the time a couple of ladies tried to help me, but there wasn't much anyone could do. I've gashed both shins but I think I'll live.

I've fallen over whilst leaning on my bike. The front wheel turned and it went down. I followed with my leg digging into the front chain ring.

depressingly , i've outdone my previous clipped fall.
near home, i've finally got my right clip in after not being able to for about 5 miles... go about 100yrds, to a little bit of cobbled road , car comes round the corner i tap on brakes to a standstill..

and of course i've forgotten i'm clipped for a second, so i keel over in front of this woman in her car.....

Running up the steps in Carlisle station with my Claud Butler I fell over and put the bar end into my eye socket causing a black eye

Worst thing was finding out at the top that there was a ramp on the other side

My most embaressing fall was several years back on a moped. I came out of a shop in a hurry, kick started it and hopped on as I opened the throttle. Just a wee bit to slick for my own good as I hadn't got my balance right and went down hard on the right hand side with my leg trapped under it and the throttle jammed wide open, roaring away.

The worst part was that it took place right in front of a bus stop full of teenagers all pissing themselves and giving me the loser sign.

Oh the shame. The two minutes it took to sort myself out were the longest of my life.

Touch wood, I haven't fallen off my bike in public since I was a kid. I fall off on off-road trails all the time, but that's more fun than anything . There's something satisfying about hammering it down a wet, muddy hill and slipping like mad into a mess at the bottom... maybe I'm nuts though .

I know I have jinxed myself now... but I'm not going to be cycling again until Saturday (driving Friday). So at least I know I won't fall off in the next 24 hours
