I don't suggest the OP raises this with them, but it makes me wonder about the definition of being a triplet.

It's probable all three foetuses were alive in the womb, but only two may have been alive outside it.

One foetus may have been aborted earlier.

Strictly, I suppose each of the surviving children is 'one of three', but I think a more common definition of a triplet would be one of three children who were all born alive, even if one didn't survive long.
Yeah, I wonder about that sort of thing all the time too...

I have a friend who set up a second fb account for her work as an artist and left the DOB as 1 January. It's quite amusing every new year to see the happy birthday messages roll in, as people who obviously don't know her respond to the automated message telling them it's her birthday.
That's my FB birthday too, though I'm probably older than her, 93 this year. I keep it private though, as I'd like my 100th birthday to be a quiet affair, probably just a 100-mile cycle ride with friends.

If it's not clear, I already knew there were 2 brothers. What I didn't know is that they were born triplets and one of them died at birth
Next time it happens perhaps you could ask if they were quintuplets and 3 of them had snuffed it to be on the
And your point is?
My guess is that if you don't get my point, I'm wasting my time explaining it. Hey ho.
