When I read your comment re "endangered species" my first thought was......there speaks a man who has never tried to eat fish & chips or a pie at the seaside. There are 1000s of the bl**dy things waiting to rob you.
Fortunately I googled it before I typed and was surprised that you are 100% correct.
I was attacked by one last year while out walking the city walls in Portugal. I had inadvertantly walked into her nest area where the was a young gull. I did not hang around.
