This particular one is egregious in being heavier and much more expensive than the usual run. Also, depends on your definition of "the point of cycling", but as you say, that's only from your point of view/needs/wants. People with limited health in hilly cities who need to get around... altogether different. However, that would be off-topic - those arguments are well-covered in the article comments. I merely proffer the example as a bike made by a car manufacturer!
