hey CC'ers - it was a lovely morning for a commute this morning all except for one incident that was over so quickly and one that i saw so little of i had no time to get vexed by it.

road section of commute - a142 (soham-ely) - i'm about 3/4's of the way to ely, i've just checked my shoulder again for anyone that may have crept up on me without noticing (i do this often and fairly quickly i might add)...turning to face 'the front' there's a frickin Golf coming towards me, he wasn't there when i turned my head and he's passing traffic that he clearly thinks is going to slowly for him (or her, I didn't get chance to see all that well)

i can only assume that he popped out of the queue of traffic, saw me and decided that i wasn't a wobbly cyclist, that i had a hat and gloves and whatnot on and so should his driving cause me any issues, I'd be perfectly alright! considering i was probably doing 15/20mph and he was prob hitting 50+ making the pass, i reckon my chances were definitely slim!

he was past me before i know it and it really only registered once he'd ducked back in to traffic just how ignorant and potentially life threatening his move was! honestly i was so shocked i didn't even get angry about it

Bad one. It's often the case with those types of incident that you get more and more annoyed the more time you have to analyse what actually happened.
I'm always paranoid when i see one of the many tractors around here because i know there's a fair chance one of the cars following will have had enough of waiting and do the inevitable.

Glad you're safe..

+1 on that. Around here I watch the buses as drivers will sometimes fly out from behind them without fully checking. Station Road can be tricky with that, Portsmouth Road too (I tend to avoid the latter for this)
