Thanks @rustybolts that's really sweet of you xxx Looks like that's from the Oulton Park group on Facebook. Both those photos are in my collection btw. I will *not* admit to how many photos I have, that would be a bit embarrassing.

Anyways, I went down yesterday - it's a 7 hour round trip, so been feeling a bit shattered today.

So this weekend it's F1 at Spa which is a circuit I have always wanted to go to and watch the old style Touring car's playing out on the track .

Who will master the circuit?

Well spa through up it's normal bit of dampness but it didn't stop the McLaren's finishing first and second in the main race .

Action within the top 5 was a bit scarce in my honest opinion.

Yeah - it started well, Hamilton carving through the field etc, then went into tyre saving mode. The last 20 laps or so were completely pointless due to tyre management.

It was a race that promised to be exciting but was pretty boring in the end.

And in F2, Alex Dunne was denied an emphatic win (and the championship lead) due to a technicality which had no bearing on his performance.

I got the impression that once the track dried out then Hamilton couldn;t catch Albon in the disturbed air at the higher speed

Before that he seemed to be able to pass anyone - and changed tyres at just the right time which gave him a massive boost up the field
but he seemed to catch up to about0.6 or 0.7 seconds and then not be able to get any closer

and the DRS wasn;t enough to counter than for him

I reckon the race delay worked out about right
they spent most of the race in dry conditions and therefore safer

although starting ti earlier would have been more exciting

Just been reading that Max's exit clause would trigger if he was outside the top 3 at the summer break

Which cannot now happen
unless another team wants to pay his transfer fee of £120 million

not sure how the writer knew of the details of the contract so use this information with caution!!
