Ramilton benefited from VSC's, which suddenly made his strategy viable. He didnt get the win because he drove round on two wheels horseriding every ounce out of the car.

On the other hand, you kind of make your own luck. Fezza knew they wouldn't get the win on a straight race, but were prepared to exploit the situation if the tactical weather fell away from the other teams, which it did. They had to be in it to win it, and one can't knock them for being better prepared for a change in the tactical situation.

Apparently McClaren and Mercedes disagree with you here.

The VSC certainly made it easier, but he would still have been in among the others on fresher tyres even without it.

Agreed. His pace was enough to have won even on a regular pit stop strategy. His final stint was stunning. Kimi was flying too until his car failed.

I thought it was a great race, not at all marred by obvious ‘harvesting’, ‘super clipping’ or other factors - the racing appeared organic.

A great result too - Lewis has raised the bar a little bit more and set some more records whilst at it.

Which would make them MORE likely to say he only won because of the VSC, not less.

And Russell had already been told on the radio that he would be fighting with Hamilton near the end.

It's doesn't make me more or less likely to say anything. I did adtually praise him, although maybe I damned it by being faint?

Remember, Zak and Toto, the latter especially, have a long and proud history of talking demonstrably utter nonsense. Mind you, so do I, but at least I admit it.

I've been an LH Fan since 2007, and I was relatively convinced he was capable of 2nd yesterday but no higher unless others had failures.
Delighted to be wrong though, and the winning margin, and 'hot laps', combined with McLaren and Merc saying the VSC would not have changed the result, was an incredible result and boost for both him and the team.
Shame Leclerc wasn't able to bring it home as well - he's a very talented driver, just having a few off races I think, pretty sure he will be back soon.
Will be very interesting to see from here on in if Hamilton can really push on, and try and make a bid for the championship.
Silverstone in 2 races: Imagine if he arrives there with 2 wins in a row, and maybe having cut the lead down to ~30 points in the process, the atmosphere would be incredible.

My favourite track Spa after that, at which he has a very good record at as well.

That's assuming Ferrari don't go all Frank Spencer on him. Their propensity for cock ups cannot be underestimated.

A valid point - historically (and recently) they have made some mahoosive blunders, but we'll just have to see what happens from now on.
I didn't have my ear to the ground on this one, so completely missed the fact they had bought (?) a load of upgrades to Barcelona - is that correct?
The next 3 races could well be key as to how the season progresses, and to who is actually going to contest the title - I'd love it to be a 3 or 4 way battle as we go into the last few races.
Looking at the standings, and with teams bringing upgrades to different races, for me any of these top 7 still have a very good chance.

Will be fascinating to see how Antonelli deals with, or in fact is troubled at all, by the theoretical pressure he is likely to feel at some point later in the season, perhaps even sooner if LH and Russell start closing him down rapidly.

We'll see how things go. Especially since the next three circuits (Zeltweg, Silverstone, Spa) are power circuits. But the latter two are prone to dodgy weather, so that could change things around yet again.
