Mountain Bike under £600

I am thinking of taking advantage of my employers cycle to work scheme (cycleplus I think they are signed up for). But I don't really want to spend more than £600 for a mountain bike.

Can anyone suggest any makes/models for around this price?

I have no idea when it comes to mtb's, but the Genesis Core is around that price and I'd buy their brand again for my next bike.

What are you going to use it for, specifically?

Boardman, cannondale, specialized, GT, kona?

Find out which shops will accept your voucher and see what they have for your budget, get a test ride if you can. Fork with lockout and hydraulic disc brakes would be on my shopping list

Would you go for Cannondale or Specialized? I have a Specialized road bike and I like it, never had any problems with after 18 months of riding.

I do like the look of the Cannondale sl6. They stock them at the bike shop I tend to use.
