Mourinho is starting to become a parody of himself. You can blame the referee on occasions when a 50/50 decision has gone against you but to do it as a matter of course every time you are beaten turns you into a bit of a joke. It has become such a routine now that the refs are probably laughing at him, he is rapidly losing the ability to intimidate. The big boss can't be too happy.

He is a good manager, no doubt about that but I wouldn't like having him as a friend.

BTW, I didn't watch the match but Southampton had 3 penalty claims that weren't given, two of them were clearer to me than the Chelsea one.

I'm gutted that none of the British teams are doing well in Europe...... I have no idea why, I still think the PL is the best league.....

What do you mean that none of the British teams are doing well in Europe?

You know who I support so how do you analyse this situation as not doing well in Europe?

CL this season: won one and lost one. The loss being away to a good team with an amazing home record.

And then this for the longer term non knee jerk view:

How far did any British team go last season or the season before that?
Not so long ago the British teams used to get to the later stages, semis and finals with frequency.

You give yourself too much importance.... actually I have no idea who you are let alone who you support and I don't mean to be disrespectful.

I can only guess by your reply that you are a Chelsea sopporter

Sorry - assumed you read signatures.

To answer your 'how far did any British team go' questions:

Last season, CFC reached the round of 16 ie later stages.

Season before, CFC reached semi-finals.

We're still flying the British flag in Europe and have been for years.

I hate football managers; they chew gum and scowl and try to look hard. A former professional Scottish player tole me that during his brief career as a footballer Alex Ferguson had a bad reputation as a dirty player.

He was known for using his elbows, I believe. But in Fergie's era the game was full of hard men who pushed the rules to the greater limits that were allowed back then.

This chap told me Ferguson was a diver. He was warned not to tackle him and at one time when he did, he remembered the warning and held back, but Ferguson dived anyway. The ref wasn't having it though.
