Sounds like a good plan, I hope it makes a difference, the venge is a fantastic bike, not worthy of retirement!
A pro bike fit may also be worth considering.
Agreed, it’s seemed hard to retire something so nice and as much as I put into it.

Hoping it was tweakable. One can get lost in opinions on forums : )

For what it's worth I ride a Spec. Roubaix and I love it ..
I'm not the best for advice as this is my first road bike but I find it very comfy and I must say I thoroughly enjoy my cycling.
I'm 47 and I say I ave 170km a week.
There is a 20mm cushion on the bars which is great the bike is light I ride with 28's cont.4 seasons.

I wouldn't rule out the Tarmac,it may be a race bike but it'll be a bit more forgiving than the Tarmac.

I have a Ridley Helium which is a similar beast to the Tarmac(although way cooler obv:whistle:) and with 25c's at 85/90 psi and floats over rough fenland roads.

Just my two penneth for what it's worth....

I'm 70 and my "best bike" ride is a Wiler Cento Uno SR. My winter bike/turbo ride is a Wilier Mortirolo. I'm comfortable on both bikes and love riding them.
However, I've got more and more pissed off being shaken to death on the crappy UK roads around here (Surrey/Hampshire) and have just bought myself a Roubaix Comp (2018 model). With all the icy weather today was my first proper outing.... what a revelation, so comfortable, so smooth. I've got it configured with the standard factory setting with the medium weight spring upfront... that seems right for me as I'm around 68kg. The stack height is at its heighest and I will probably reduce it but today i found myself riding on the drops for a fair bit of the ride and it was very comfortable. Lots of pbs today and a decent average speed (for me).... can't tell everything with one ride but so far very impressed.

I think that if you're fixed in your mind about Specialized, and IF price is not a concern, then the S-Works Roubaix McLaren edition might tick all the boxes - https://www.specialized.com/us/en/s-works-roubaix-mclaren-dura-ace-di2/p/134255?color=240101-134255 - and it's 'only' $11,500! Or the S-Works Roubaix Dura-Ace edition - https://www.specialized.com/us/en/s-works-roubaix-dura-ace-di2/p/128885?color=240074-128885 - at $10,500, or the S-Works Roubaix SRAM eTap - https://www.specialized.com/us/en/s-works-roubaix-sram-etap/p/134017?color=240099-134017 - at $10,000.

If it was my choice of the 3, I would go for the Dura-Ace edition.

That said, there's a far wider choice if you go to something other than Specialized.
