At the big Tesco where I usually shop at the sport section there is a small pouch you can attach to your arm which is for keeping your mobile phone in whilst jogging etc. It has an adjustable elasticated strap and they are quite cheap.

Now the warmer weather is showing itself, instead of a fleece jacket with pockets for all my bits and pieces, Ill be using a bumbag.

I don't use earphones, but if I'm just cycling down the cyclepath I have an old 256Mb iriver mp3 player and a small battery operated speaker that sits in my feed pouch on the top tube, I can hear the music, but I can also hear everything else too.
