HI All,

Im not going to lie, my wife has a "cheap" bike from Hlafords, full suspension with Disk brakes.

Her back brake has started to slow her down after a fairly long distance and if I try it hardly stops at all.I can only get teh back wheel to fully lock when there is no traction on the tyre. (I know you dont always want it to lock, but it is nice having the option). I have checked the pads and these seem fine. Im very new to disk brakes so could do with some advise on what to check.

I did to it to a local shop, they couldn't fix it even though they said they had.

Anything I can check?

Cable (probably) or hydraulic?

If they are cable, then probably just need adjusting.

If its an apollo then its probably a Clarks brake and they do need adjusting now and then.

Yep its cable. It's a Shockwave, I think this line replaced the Apollo, same cheap parts though.
