The Latitude arrived today. Looks great. Had a bit of a fiddle setting it up, including accidentally getting a pinch in the hydraulic cable. Stupid me. Hope that won't cause problems.
Also, and I'm annoyed at myself for this, I stood it on it's forks while I was sorting out the handlebars, and forgot to put cardboard down, so now it has some of the paint scraped off from the very bottom of the forks. Not bad for only having had it for 10 minutes.

I don't suppose that you've weighed it? I am going through a similar decision process to you, and weight is coming to the fore for me as a selection factor.

The only change I'd make would be to put a 2.4 up front if there is room and lower the stem.

I'm pretty tall, so don't think the stem needs lowering.

The theory, as I understand it is, on a XC / all mountain sort of set up, the bars should be a bit lower than the saddle, quite a bit lower say as much as 75mm for a taller rider over six foot. Nut it is only a theory.
The tyres you have are 2.2 (inches wide). A 2.4 is a tyre 2.4 inches wide. In theory. A wider front makes for better handling on big hits, more control over washboards, better grip in the bends esp as you can run it at slightly lower pressures, and allows you to make better use of your front brake. In theory (and ime). On the other hand some say it will break your frame!![]()
I agree it is subtle change, but a significant one, changes the rolling diameter of the tyre, alters the head angle and 300 other kinds ofAh, OK. I'll ride it as it is, and maybe drop the stem by one spacer and have another go and see.
I can't see how 0.2 inches would make the slightest difference to me - I'm not exactly riding at the very edge of the bike's ability!
