Mtb Weekend Help.

Hi All,

Can anybody recommend somewhere to go mtbing for a weekend with accommodation (not too expensive) close or on site for 4 lads in may b&b,caravan or log cabin sort of thing ( thinking BBQ and couple of crates).

Been to Afan Argoed so somewhere a bit further afield.

It's for my 40th (Gulp) !

What do you want? A trail center with everything laid on ie way marked trails or a bit of open country?

Unfortunately you've discounted Afan - probably the best center in Wales if not the UK IMHO, there this weekend - so it'll be Glentress for a trail center or base yourself in the Hope Valley for some cracking riding.

try the peak district - there a loads of hostel and some really good tracks - you would need to get maps and find those out. the yha also do bunk barns or whatever they are called - i.e. a barn where you can sleep in and cooking/waskng facilities - very basic & cheap so you can jhire out the place all to your slef.

also there a loads of campsites there.
