MTBer taken out by a deer!

It not just the animal kingdom of which people should be aware of and are advised to wear a helmet to protect oneself.
A falling conker on the helmetless bonce* hurts just as much as a cloven hoof I can imagine.

*This may or may not of happened to me on Saturday on the CycleChat ride.

Nearly ran over a Fox MTB'ing in the dark a few weeks back - the bloody thing jumped out of undergrowth, straight over the trail and off. Might have been the magicshine and thundering tyres that scared it.

I see lots of deer where I ride and a few times I've come closer to them than I would have liked, mostly when it was dark.

An added factor in an 'incident' on the road is that you may expect the deer to run away from you, but their hooves are smooth and on tarmacked road, deer dodge about trying to grip, before running in unexpected direction out of control.

Don't be ridiculous, foxes do not ride MTBs, and certainly not in the dark
