I've got this zefal guard for v little cash. Works a treat and absolutely necessary in this weather.
I don't love its looks but it don't hate them either.
Frankly I don't care if some bike Nazi strikes me off their Xmas card list. I'm out and that's what matters (to me).

Only not riding puts you in the non cycling world and if fitting a mudguard keeps you riding then fit away.

I've had many comments about mudguards on my MTB...

I do think they look ugly (maybe it's just these particular guards which are ancient) but they keep quite a bit of some muck off me.

Depends on if you cycle alone or not and what type of riding your doing?

Road,
Alone, no problem.
Group, no dont do it as it only protects you and not other riding behind you.

Off road,
No Problem regardless.

It's a 26" and I have semi slicks on it as I use a lot of cycle paths and towpaths so don't need full knobbly's.
It's an old bike now (had it from new for 8 years) and my new MTB should be ready for me to collect either today or tomorrow :hyper:

Thought about some full size 26" guards. I've got these on my MTB for the winter and the Trans Pennine. The clip on ones are next to useless, other than trying to keep your butt slightly dryer. The splatter goes up your back anyway.
