Mudguards or not?

You never really know sadly.

Best thing to do is search for your bike + mudguards online and see what other people have to say, etc... or look for your bike + specific brand etc.

There is a certain amount of fiddling to be done, even if you have full mounts for guards/racks...

What's the bike?

Giant Escape 1.

This is like going in to a computer store and asking if X will work on Y... except I can do that already ;)

SKS P55s for me.
When I was running on Spesh 26x1.95s, I got by on a front Crudcatcher and a rear pannier rack and for the most part stayed fairly dry.
I found when I changed to Nimbus Armadillos 26x1.5s I was getting much more wet. I would have thought that fat nobblies would have thrown more water up
than the road tyres, but not in my case, so hence the full mudgaurds.
Good quality and easy to fit.
