Keep them on my commuter all year round.
For my leisure rides I wear the muddy wet stripe up my back with pride.

I have a pair of these (see pic)
Fitting them the very first time can take a bit of fiddling to get it right, but once you've done that, it's a very very quick job.
I tend to keep them on the roadie all winter, as they provide some protection for the bike from the rain, salt and other cr@p, but not as much as full mudguards, obv) and for me and my clothes too (I don't like the muddy strip up the back, and your shorts looking like you've 'followed through'). I take them off (mudguards, not shorts :thumbsup:) when it's mostly dry, perhaps putting them on if it's threatening to rain that day.
I take them off because it looks better and I feel like I'm going faster. The latter is not real, but the psychological illusion is pleasurable. :smile:
