As long as I breathe, I attack.
Got a text from my sister yesterday that our mum had been taken to A+E with what they thought was blood sugar issue with her diabetes but turns out she has had a small stroke .CT scan showed a small blood clot on the brain
My brother caught a train home from wheer he lives and got in at midnight, we all came home 1 am when she had seen him and settled in the ward after over 6 hours waiting for a transfer .
Still waiting for news as we cant get through to the ward , not allowed in till regular visiting times as its the stroke/old patients ward .

Good luck cyberknight, hope everything turns out ok.

My mother (79) had a stroke in June, I found her on her hallway floor where she'd been all night. She was taken to A&E, then had a CT, the result being the same as your mother's. She was out within days, she refused to stay with old people, and has suffered no lasting impairment.

Thanks all,
Mum was coherent but weak before she went to sleep and shes a similar age and of the same persuasion with regards to independence, i only live 5 mins walk away now .
Mrs CK also suffers from TIA strokes due to her shrunk brain blood vessels due to chemo /radiotherapy .

I don't know whether her small stroke is a TIA (temporary ischemic? Attack or close to that), but my Dad had that about 8 years ago, and with good treatment he made a good recovery afterwards. It was described to me as a mini stroke, or a temporary blockage. He has been on Warfarin ever since.

I hope that you get some good news soon and that you start to see signs of recovery.

This reminds me of my great aunt Nora.

She always cared about her appearance and dressed well, hair and make up were always spot on.

When she was seventy eight she decided she wanted to see the pyramids so got a passport for the first time. When it arrived she turned to her son and said, "you'll have to send it back, it makes me look like an old lady."

Good luck to your mum Cyber.
