My shortlist for next car currently is
Citroen DS3
VW Polo

and that's about it, something small, economical and relatively inexpensive...been procrastinating now for at least 12 months, in the mean time my 10 year old diesel continues to perform flawlessly and cannot understand why I would ever want to replace it ^_^
I like the look of the VW Polo, although we don't get them in the US.

I had the same, my Focus is 11 years old, it has an annual service and mot for about £120, otherwise it has cost me two bulbs and a set of wiper blades. I had to do the tyres and brakes last year, but they are consumables so would be needed whatever car I had. It even still has the original battery and has never missed a beat since I bought it as an ex demo car, six months old with 500 miles on it. I hope the Mini is just as reliable.

Go for the Polo.

Same here with my Primera. 14 years old now (last model) of which I've had it 13 years and a touch over 100k. Fantastically reliable and a huge luggage hauler, and more equipment than most modern cars.

Well the horrible cold and rain has cleared North Wales. Sat in the cafe at Aberkan Fabrics in Mostyn whilst my wife goes fabric shopping. There is a huge array of cakes and hot food, so far resisted...... :hungry:

Mitsubishi Lancer, voted most reliable over here in its model year, still going strong after 8 years, never much work done on it outside of consumables.
