Snooker

It depends on who is playing. Almost all of the young/new players do nothing for me, and hence, I don't follow it very closely now, but Alan McManus is a player who I knew from when I followed snooker as a kid, but he then seemed to fall off the radar..... And yet, he's now back and was playing in his first semi final at the Crucible for 23 years (which he just lost). 23 YEARS!! FFS!

That in itself was worth seeing, but in his last match to qualify for the semi final, he was playing none other than another old Scottish stalwart of the game, John Higgins!

My goodness, that match might as well have been 20 odd years ago, it was such a wonderful blast from the past, I was hooked!!

I used to love watching McManus when he was a wrestler. I wished I had a pair of gold lame swimming trunks.

Oh I agree, I had a schoolboy crush on him right from when I first saw him as a new player on the telly, and even when he had all those silly haircuts and started not to look as good as he did originally, I still liked him!

I even forgave him getting married , but when he got Cancer, I could hardly watch (something I now regret) I just hoped it would pass, in a sense, I was hoping for his comeback as per my original (admittedly crass on first inspection) comment on this, but, alas, it never happened.

What a waste.
