I remember going as a kid and loving it!

@potsy is on his way.

Proper thunder and lightning here. A friend had a nasty experience a few weeks ago when her landline phone turned into a flame thrower in her kitchen thanks to the storm so I've been round and unplugged everything. All the birds are still at the feeders so I guess the rain is here to stay.

There was a TV programme some years ago which said that a number of people get killed by using a landline telephone each year.

The grass in my back garden has grown so long that I was expecting to encounter two elderly Japanese soldiers wishing to surrender. It was literally up to my knees.

So, tonight, out came the mower, with the cutting height suitably adjusted.

After 20 minutes, it packed up.

So, out came the cruddy old reserve that I use for the front lawn, with no grass box. I managed to finish about half an hour ago.

I have to rake up the cuttings yet. Tons more rain forecast for tomorrow.
