I'm feeling very ashamed to be British. Two Dutch people at the place we are staying are asking if the English are mad. They've both said that they didn't realise how xenophobic 'we' are.

How awful but they are right unfortunately.

Morning. Hissy spit growls going on, and that is from the kitten. Gwen is trying to be friends but he is being a bit bolshy. They did touch noses at one point, so that is a good thing.

Meanwhile, I'm going to Pennington Flash this morning with year 1 for some pond dipping. Rain is forecast.
We've had very little rain this week which has been lovely. I spent several hours in the garden yesterday evening, in fact I only came in when it got too dark to see what I was doing. Lots of chopping trimming, weeding, edging, sweeping etc. Garden looking much neater now. I think all the rain last week caused a growth spurt. The incentive to do so much yesterday was (a) it's forecast rain and (b) the bins are being emptied today.

I am rather shocked to be honest, I don't want out.

Thank you all, she is fine, has a large bump on one side, a long graze on the other, cut knee, bruised thigh, broken brake calliper and we need to check the wheel.

I have been checking her for signs of concussion but all seems to be okay. She was getting a new bike for Christmas, so it may be bought forward... her one is 6 years old so t has served her well
