Good morning, today is E day, extraction day, this afternoon the dentist removes my broken tooth, now while I'm not looking forward to sitting in the dentist chair I'll be glad to loose the blighter.

I descaled my kettle using malt vinegar instead of the recomended white vinegar.......the smell just wouldn't go so I repeated with bicarbonate of soda and all is well.....

The birds have returned to the bird feeder after an absence for quite a while. I am assuming that a Sparrowhawk may have been around and spooked them.

My birds only hide for 5-10 minutes if the sparrowhawk comes for dinner. They're only eating a fraction of what they consumed when they had chicks. My bank balance is extremely grateful.

I'm on a narrow boat for the next 3 days. I'm helping a friend manage the locks and drink his supply of craft beers. It's hard being the cabin boy but someone has to do it.

Presumably he didn't have a wife available to do that.

The fragrant MrsP and I have just had a late breakfast of feta cheese and ham omelette with a side of grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. Yummy in my tummy.

Stop all this talk of food as I have got to wait until lunch time. I was up at 4, out at 5.30 to drive 150 miles west to Oxfordshire.

On the plus side I have got my bike and I have already found a chap and his bike who wants to go out on a ride. He ripped his quad muscle and something else nasty 12 weeks ago whilst on LEJOG. He got to Carlisle and hit a stone so he is in recoup too.
