Word of the day though is something some members here don't ever do.
remuage - the periodic turning or shaking of a stored bottle of wine, especially champagne, to move sediment towards the cork.

As the original French is literally 'to move about', it is extremely likely that this is the root of 'rummage'. Which us chaps do a fair amount.
