I just Google Earthed it. A quick look at the main road on streetview and I can hear and smell the place, let alone feel the heat. So many great memories of travelling through standard Thai towns. The jealousy returns.

I just saw a plane abort its landing at London City Airport. As it didn't wheel round and do another run I assume the pilot preferred landing at Heathrow in this wind.

I was under the impression that they'd have to circle round and reacquire ILS, giving way to other aircraft already on the beam.

It surprised me too as I was expecting it to wheel round but it carried on straight until out of sight over London. The runway at LCY is a very narrow, short strip between water-filled docks and there was a heavy, gusty crosswind, so I just assumed it was going for the longer, wider runway at HRW.

I wouldn't bother, Rocky gets his from Tesco for a fiver, he is happy with that.
