ahhh - the black spot and the pale green spots that appear like plagues in the countryside and slowly spread north as the weather improves...
we currently have a green spot outbreak around here



Sorry they don't half ruin a perfectly good landscape photo....

not so much down sauf as we have good enough weather to do proper hay where as most of the wrapped bales are silage/haylage (not as critical with rain after being cut and baled sooner after being cut than hay and better for dairy farms)

any way it's unfair to say they all look so bad, in fact i think they look great! and this year they came in the pretty in pink variety

bale wrap manufacturer volac decided to make a special run of pink bale wrap this year that they would charge a bit more for and the extra the customer pays goes to a breast cancer charity it was MASSIVELY popular just proving even if farmers are skint and struggling to stay afloat what with the current milk and lamb etc prices we can still be charitable
i'm not certain but i think it might well be back next year

I've switched my lava lamp on to give a sense of warmth.

This morning I wore a waxed hat in case of rain while I did a volunteering stint restoring a community garden. The hood of my raincoat was therefore down. It was raining so hard as I walked back afterwards that the hood filled with water. It had to be tipped out before I got in the car.

That'd be silage, possibly haylage, but never hay. Hay doesn't get wrapped.
Take it you've seen no yellow or orange ones yet.

weren't me! we still got 10 acres or so of hay to cut and haven't even started the straw yet, we need sun and dry weather to start combining!

i haven't even heard of orange or yellow silage bales, the only yellow bales i know is cotton!

You've only pink ones.
Its an attempt to find a colour that attracts fewer bird strikes and a little easier to get rid off, once used.

I came home this evening and there were mushrooms growing in the front lawn.

No sign of the frog.

I've spent 2 days sorting out my slightly hoarder tendency mum's garage, stacked floor to ceiling and end to end with boxes of her stuff and the remnants of my grandma's effects, 18 months after she downsized from a 4 bed house to a 2 bed bungalow.

One more trip to the the charity shop & the musical nephew is to come round and rescue my late dads guitars & its clear enough to park her little car in there now.

Aching, flaked out and feeling very pleased with the job. Quite a way to spend week 2 of my annual leave.
