Great format, shame Mp3 came along and buggered it up. I've got a HiFi version hooked up to my system and a portable one (both Sony) for out and about.

I used to use a Sharp pocket one to record from mikes, the only problem I had was the external sounds could be easily heard! The quality was extraordinary, especially after using tape. I've compared with MP3 and without a doubt it is much better. Trouble was, the limitations Sony placed on its use.
