Is it a mountain bike that you are after? It was riding mine that knackered me, I wish now that I had taken one of my old road bikes. The ride would have been a lot smoother and I could have free wheeled half the distance.
Currently I'm riding a Tesco special full susp, weighing about 20kg, mostly along the very rough canal towpath here. Hence I'd quite like front suspension to cope with the lumps of concrete. I must admit drooling over a couple of Whyte road bikes they had. I've started adding loops from the canal but the terrain is rather hilly. Last year I managed 391 miles with the longest at 20 miles, so I'm getting there.
