I was at school in 1963, I remember it started snowing on Boxing day and didn't clear till March, I was woken every morning by the sound of my Dad clearing our path.

That was the year we didn't play football for months, oh the joy!!!!

I remember walking along the clifftop at Hunstanton, there was a layer of ice on top of the snow, just like icing on a cake. The sea was freezing on the beach. Probably when I first started enjoying walking.

Are you sure you didn't pull it just doing some unaccustomed exercise

I would say I hope it feels better in the morning but my friend who came off yesterday felt worse today

Do you know of anyone who has a steel road bike that will let you try it. I have gone back to mine as I have found them to be more comfortable , lighter and easier to ride. My ride today was like riding over a cattle grid all the way.

Almost bought a road bike just before Christmas, no front wheels or brakes but brand new otherwise. Wouldn't have been too good on the towpath tho'.

I was brought up on the outskirts of Folkstone in Kent, I can remember walking up Danton Lane with my sledge and realizing that underneath the snow I was walking on were parked cars.
