Right, here we go. The first show of Leicester Comedy Festival for us, Junior Simpson and three other comics at my local pub. Free beer too, a good start. 10 gigs in 19 days ahead, it's going to take some stamina and a new liver, but I'm up for it.

Dust just before you serve it?

It's been sent off with a friend who is going to the main birthday event.... We the "lower class citizens", have to wait till Monday before we are allowed to take them out for a meal and celebrate their birthday....

(The friend has ME and is on a dairy and gluten free diet so that's why it's a polenta cake, and there are also brownies but they do contain dairy and gluten).

Hmmmm.... Thick pastry and not much gravy. The reason there wasn't any gravy is because it was rammed full of meat. A good taste but a bit dry, would suit as a football pie because it has the structural strength and solid filling to stand being eaten by hand out of its tray. 6/10 not as tasty as their wild boar sausages.

We've had an excellent evening at the Elms in Allesley, a drink and an excellent meal, we're suitably stuffed and mellow now. The Elms is the former Paybody Eye Hospital, inside its like a rabbit warren, lots of rooms all on different levels.

Thoroughly enjoyed tonights gig, Junior Simpson was as good as we expected. Now we have to sober up for Lucy Porter tomorrow.

We know a guy who does the motor race every year, it's more about the social than the metalwork. Do it, you only come this way once.

Hardly, you're just not used to home made. You don't get quality from shops.

I've been twice before. The racing forms a background to insane behaviour though I believe things are a lot calmer off track now. It's a bit of a lottery weather wise in early April. One year the temperature didn't rise above 8˚C. My second visit I suffered from sunburn.
