Now I'm retired I'm thinking I'd like to resume Yoga, after a class I used to find I'd often given a good work out to muscles that didn't get a good work out very often, and the meditation was good for my well being.
I took up Pilates for some back problems that I'd been having and it has definitely helped with strengthening my core muscles, but with the added benefit of stretching those muscles that get tight cycling.

The instructor finds me funny (I think), as I can't follow her verbal instructions and have to watch, I'm pretty flexible but necessarily strong, which means some stretches just don't stretch me, or I end up doing the wrong thing so she has to correct me. I know she checks out my face and can tell when I haven't understood... And I end up causing laughter. Last night we were doing a series of different moves and confused I asked a question which resulted in her extending the exercise a little more and calling it the Summerdays stretch:biggrin: though the rest of the class weren't amused:whistle:

Sounds like you have a great instructor who knows you well.
I need to listen to the instructions and watch to be able to follow! Because the moves are usually slow and we do a few repeats, I can keep up. Whereas, on the rare occasions when I have tried an exercise class or something with fast music, I can't keep up at all.
We have a great atmosphere in our class and our instructor knows all our strengths and weaknesses. When she goes round helping or correcting us we're pleased if she goes past us to 'pick on' someone else.
