I was just watching a programme on the Beeb how farmers fool ewes into accepting orphans by making them smell like their own offspring. And then I thought does it apply to cyclists. What seems to happen is that you start off with a donor bike, you clean it , you fiddle with bits and it gradually takes on the smell of your own bikes and slowly you feel sorry for it and eventually it becomes part of the family.
