Thanks. It's difficult to judge how they've taken it from the phone calls but I think they are pretty upset.

It'll be about 3 hours travelling after they get picked up so practically a midnight finish rather than being back in time for an evening meal and some wine as they'd hoped.

Yes, I think correspondence will be exchanged. The real bugbear at the moment is that when the first repair failed, the second patrol (subcontracted to a local garage) was incorrectly told that they only had roadside cover so when he couldn't do anything to fix it he only had the means to tow them to the nearest services. Very poor.
