I've got five orchids in flower at the moment.

If I remember rightly @Lullabelle is another orchid fan, so here's a picture for you.

How often are the supposed to flower?

I've got nine of that type, three of them seem to flower about every three months, while the others are more like twice a year.

I've got another one that looks completely different to those as well, but that only flowers every nine months or so.

Some of mine used to flower for years on end without stopping, others only a few months. I also had other varieties of orchid other than the moth orchids which I used to prefer including an air orchid which was fabulous. It was a blue colour and flowered almost continually from getting it to my mother killing it after we left on our attempted rtw. So they vary. It also depends on what you feed them and if you are using rain water or tap water to water them with. Tap water is not good unless you let it stand for +24hrs first (assuming it is chlorinated of fluorinated).

Morning all. Quiet day planned today. I have the cooking, cleaning and washing to do, plus I want to get to the chemist.

Dull and overcast here today with a small chance of snow in Canberra and snow above 900m forecast for the mountains.

I use tap water for mine and they thrive really well.
