SRAM chainring bolts screw into the chain ring. The ring has a thread. Stupid idea.

Thought about it but the design would mean the rear nut would interfere with the chain on the smaller ring unless I was able to countersink it.

Thanks - he came 3rd. 1st and 2nd worked together to keep him just out of reach the whole race which, given that they're 2 of the best in the region, was a good result.
He's happy, as am I, and it's progress from 2-3 weeks ago.

morning folks. for those envious a life in the sun, the forecast today is

It hasn't started yet, but there is that overcast look that I have come to recognise that means and more for the day. I just keep thinking, at least those water tanks should be filling up! Mind you it will be one of the first things we will be checking on Tuesday. That at how much gas there is in the gas cyclinder (only source of cooking and hot water). then organising some wood for the only source of heating....
On the
front, I'm still pale and fragile. Managed to keep the liquid calories down from last night, but this mornings latte hasn't been finished. I managed about half of it which is a massive improvement on yesterday when just the smell of it made me want to throw up. But if I move to quickly (hardly normally an issue with my back!) I feel sick... this bug seems to be rather yuck to say the least. Even on double steroids, I slept all day yesterday and all of last night. Oh well.
Another day of rest looms. An hour or so on the blog, then back to bed until lunch time when I will try for another hour or so on the blog and so on. I'm trying to get it up and running as previously promised to family! They all want a 'journal' similar to the one I did on tour.
So its back to the 
whilst I can.
