Coming out of retirement for a few months as a tractor driver, have agreed to work through the harvest, will be getting to do that bit where you drive alongside the combine as it fills the trailer - LOL. Apparently there will be about 5000 ton of cereals to lead in and to expect 16 hour days  so I doubt I will be seeing my bike for the next couple of months. Should be kicking off this weekend with the winter wheat.
Short days then!

Yesterday a squirrel knocked the fat ball bird feeder off the tree. Nettiethedog discovered them and consumed them all, made herself very ill, sick and diarrhoea . She's been at the vets overnight on a drip. Naughty girl.

I used to drive tractors for the harvest when I was at university. Hard work but I loved it.
I was only ever the bottom of the pile with pitch forks to help shift hay around.... The moss fields on my aunts farm were too boggy to take large vehicles, so man and child power were in high demand! Long days though! I just remember fun and sunshine mainly!

Oops, that'll learn her, hope she's OK soon.

When I was a kid my mother left the butter dish out over night by accident. When we got up in the morning the butter had been thoroughly licked and Ben Puss was sat in the corner of the kitchen looking decidedly green. We tried not to laugh, it took him a good 24 hours before he wanted food again.
