I have got an Optolyth 20_60x80 spotting scope which I would like to try using. All I have managed to get so far is a tiny close up picture in the centre surrounded by a large black halo.

I don't know much about it, but you can get some great results. I guess it's down to the mount and lens you use to connect to the scope, and a sturdy tripod.

We are collecting this later. The missus did point out the roof bars for the bike rack (would need new feet though as it's a Thule) but I'd need a step to get the bike on the roof. My old motor will be the official team car. I've ordered fitted mats for it and a 64GB mini usb stick for the hi-fi.

Wife a bit bothered about fuel - gone from a petrol 1.0 Yaris to a 1.6 petrol but she wanted a bigger car, and a diesel isn't a great idea given the stop start nature of her commute and the short local drives it will have.

I've got a Primera and that swallows stuff. Bikes go on the roof. Our Yaris is 17 and my Primera 14. The Yaris is getting tired now, so time to change as the kids are nearly adult sized. My car is still fine, and both have been superbly reliable. Having done the servicing myself, I know my way round the engines, so Ill continue to do the stuff on the new car.

Yep, it's got the glass roof, which makes a big difference to light in the car, as with the electric blind closed, it's quite gloomy. Wife has been googling too much and has seen a couple of cars cheaper, but checking the prices, it is spot on with other car dealers. As it's from a 'supermarket' there isn't any negotiation. Condition wise, there are no shopping trolly dings, nor any marks on the alloys, and it's scratch and chip free from what I can see.

Hopefully the Qashqai will have the same 'secret' pedal and key presses to access the computer systems as my car. E.g. I can re-scan the airbags if a warning comes up, read engine management lights, and also re-set the service reminder without going into a garage !!
