Night all. It's 9pm here and I'm sitting in front of a log fire trying to keep warm! Enjoy your hot day. It's the middle of winter here and it feels like it as well.

At this precise second ... winter sounds nice ... just for an hour to allow me to cool down!!!

Good morning CycleChatters. For my birthday I appear to have been given far more sunshine than I can use. So the sunshine's on me. Enjoy it while you can.

I'm currently running an anniversary bath and then I'm off to buy a pair of light trousers for this evening's restaurant.

I have drawn the curtains thinking that it would keep out the heat but it has had the opposite effect.

I've got the curtains/blinds shut at the front and the doors open at the back of the house! Lurking in the dinning room as it's one of the coolest places (normally I moan as it is one of the darkest rooms but today it's the nearest I get to bliss) - but I'm making inroads into my ice cube stock pile!!

I'm back after a very enjoyable 53 mile ride, its el scorchio out there and it made a nice change to be fighting a warm headwind on the way back instead of a cold one. It was quite still when I left this morning but its breezy now.

To be honest, if I arm myself with 100cl of rehydration juice and have a glug or two every time I get up to go to the toilet, I've found I replace what's going out so that I only need 3 mugs of tea when I get up the next day.

It is 34 C according to my car. The kitten was lying on the floor trying to cool down. Gwen was on the floor but is now in the window warming up.

I am considering the matter of going for a pootle to the shops on my Dawes Kingpin, now that I have repaired the puncture. Perhaps a cup of coffee first.
