The bread was wrapped in paper. If i get some more i will try the fridge and give the bread bin a good wash and air outside in the sun.

Just confirmed my test drive for tomorrow, quite nervous as I haven't driven anything but my own car for about 8 years, will be strange getting in one where everything works

Too warm. If I buy shop bread, it lives in the freezer and I take a couple of slices at a time when I want toast, but fresh bread doesn't have a great shelf life in the best of circumstances. I bought a sourdough loaf from the farmer's market yesterday: it's in a cool and dark yet airy cupboard, wrapped in paper and not plastic. Seems ok this morning.

That is a good idea for basic sliced white - putting it in the feezer - 'cos you can toast it straight from frozen. I keep bread in the fridge too sometimes. I've never had any problem doing that but I think its supposed to make it more prone to damp and mould.

The mould might be lurking in the bread bin? I don't eat bread generally, but if I do buy it I keep it wrapped up in the fridge. (Yes, I know some people think this is a terrible thing to do, but I've never really understood why.)

Yep.

I assume you can only get to the Cattorpe farm shop from the A6 now, we used to come in from the M1 junction.
