I hate logging in and seeing tons of alerts! ... Don't you then have to plough through it all in one sitting, else you forget where you got up to?

I've found that if there are too many then it doesn't show them all in the little alerts list and you can miss some of them as a result. I am now generally using the unwatched threads list and they little alerts list together as a guide, but i know I'm missing stuff!

Morning all.

Dull and overcast today. We are due rain today which is not good news this time around... It will make the septic tank issue worse. The ground water levels are surprisingly high still.

Right time for a coffee to warm up. Inside the house is holding double figures just (in Celsius luckily!), outside I've not measured...

Jobs for today include continuing cleaning the bedroom, won't get the complete today, hoovering, making tea and doing the weekly ash run from the fire. I only do the ash once a week. Keeping ash in the fire place gives the fire something to warm up and keep warm so it works better, hence i only clear out about 3/4s of it not all... Let's get it done before it rains!

Used to clear the fire out fully before lighting, made for easier lighting. Only the range was never cleared out when cooking.

Slowly recovering from a lack of tea over the weekend. We went camping to get the kids involved with Sleep Wild. My stove (a rather nice MSR Dragonfly) went up like a petrol bomb. It proved rather tricky to put out I can tell you!
