My alarm dragged me out of a very nice dream and now my head feels like it is full of cotton wool and I am tired, Still a 12 hour shift starts in an hour....marvelous.

Morning from a grey and windy here. I just had to go and make another hot drink and ask Gwen why she hadn't joined us for morning. She gave me a long story, lay on the carpet and insisted that her tummy be rubbed, looked out of the front door and decided not to go out and remained downstairs. She obviously has better things to do.

Off out at 8 for an early mtb session..things to do..not a bad morning after yesterday's wind

We are going out for a 10 mile walk. Mrs R's neck is playing up so the planned ride has been abandoned. No worries - Hampstead Heath is looking good at the moment.

Looks like a good morning for a walk, you might need wellies though. Hope Mrs R's neck is nothing serious

I went to an auction yesterday and won a brass fish for my wife, and a pair of loppers. I picked up 3 pairs of old binocular which nobody wanted, but have cleaned nicely. The main reason for going was a pair of flutes which I didn't get, but I did help the seller achieve a better price than they otherwise would have.

We are going out for a 10 mile walk. Mrs R's neck is playing up so the planned ride has been abandoned. No worries - Hampstead Heath is looking good at the moment.

Nettiethedog didn't hear the porridge bowls being finished this morning, she usually comes from the other room as soon as she hears the spoons scraping the bowls, so Jessiethepup the pup who was waiting by the table got both bowls. The Fragrant MrsP said that Nettiethedog is deaf as a post now, I said, I bet she hears me unwrapping the cling film off the cheese. Sure enough as soon as the rustling of the cling film started she skidded into the kitchen. MrsP's face was a picture, oh how we laughed.

It's little moments of domestic life like this that make life seem worth living,

Yes like little paws on your face at 4am telling you its breakfast time so you get up and feed them only to find by the time you return to bed they are already snuggled up snoring

Back to normality, grocery list for this morning, TVC is going to make a big batch of bolognese whilst I do some gardening, a few things died while we were away so a bit of tidying needs to be done.
