Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
It's a bit of a convoluted trip for reasons to long winded to write about this early in the morning but later today with bikes in the car we are heading to Stanstead airport and parking the car, train to London and staying the night, then spending tomorrow sight seeing then catching the Caledonian sleeper train to Glasgow (1st class) for a day in Glasgow, then flying to Stanstead to collect the car and drive to Harwich for the ferry to Holland, a few days there cycling about a bit and then to Luxembourg for a couple of days cycling then back home.
I think convoluted May be an understatement there but very jealous of you cycling in Holland and Luxembourg.

Plenty of pictures please.

I love the Caledonian sleeper and have been tempted to book a week's worth of journeys just going up and back to Scotland. You'll get a brilliant night's sleep. Have fun!
It's the first thing on my retirement list. I even have a cottage bookmarked to stay in afterwards. Can't wait to book it all.

Sounds great.

15 years ago when we moved into our last house my new neighbour, a teacher, knew even then how many days he had left to retirement , over the years I would test him on it, he never let me down. 18 months now, he is happily retired but still cycles 10 miles a day, which was his commute, which incidentally never missed in all the time I knew him, all weathers.

We're taking Miss K back to uni at the end of the week as her lectures start on Tuesday. As it's half way to my parents, we'll be dropping of all the clobber /stuff, then she's coming with me to stay with them because my sister is going to be over from Canada and the rest of the family will decend at various points over the weekend too. It'll be the first time all 4 siblings have been together for 5 years!

It actually varies depending on which competition you're talking about, though the original was 'I claim the Westminster Gazette prize' (of between £10 and £50). The £5 came from the inheritor of the Westminster Gazette, the Daily Mail, sometime after the war.

Having said that, the standard meme on the internet is £5, and tbh I'm not sure the exact amount matters for the purposes of the joke.

I seem to have the recollection of the Mirror doing something similar.
