    Had our first proper and successful mushrooming foray of the season, this morning (er ... yesterday morning). Bagged a tad over 1Kg of mostly Hydnums (Pieds de Mouton - aka 'hedgehog fungi') with a few Chanterelles thrown in as well. Enough for a couple of meals. Delectable! ;)

    More to follow, I wonder? Note: we don't take too much on these outings, just enough for ourselves.

    My Pops will be going mushrooming again soon. If i go...it's normally for the fresh air....he get's all excited over it though....lol

    He's got loads of Mushroom/Fungi books etc....
    Mind you...his Fiancee thinks he's a fun guy to be with.....

    ....I'll get my coat...;)

    We've had quite a few blue stalks and chanterelles as well. We've even had a few ceps which is very early for here. Not a single girolle the whole summer though. But you have to get up very early here as the competition is fierce - not just from the slugs!

    It's all this rain we've had...it's brought lot's of mushrooms and fungi out earlier. I bet there are some good puffballs knocking about.....
