Hokay, Baggy has come up with a cracking theme for the evening. "Tunes that were around at significant times of your life".

I'll start with this, wot was No 1 when I popped out of Mummy's mimsy.

On the day of my Wedding Will Young was topping the charts with Anything is Possible.. so, a gay man singing about my apparent chances with my Wife-to-be.

This was either number 1 or close to it when my brothers first son was born at 29 weeks, he was in an incubator thing/life support and on high risk fora good few months in a Derby hospital (they live in Surrey, just visited friends).

The lead singer wrote it about his child who was premature. My sister in law still crys when she hears it. Jai is 5 in November and fit as a fiddle now.

The beginning of the end of childhood in the early 70s and starting to mix with the older guys at youth club...particually being opened up to a whole new world of music. I used to listen transfixed to stuff like this

When I was a little girl I had long hair which was plaited and tied with red ribbons. My Dad used to tell me that this song made him think of me, when as a very wee Wafflycat, I'd say my bedtime prayer before getting into bed and then he'd tuck me in.

At our wedding, we had Tallis, Spem In Alium, as Baggy's entrance music. She looked so beautiful and the music just blows me away every time.

Family came and went for me....i lost track of them in the early / mid 70s, forgot all about them.
Then i really got into Mike Oldfield (Tubular Bells etc)...imagine my surprise when i heard this track on one of his albums...
